THE SOUND OF MUSIC

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.  (II Chronicles 7:14)
So, then, what does America need?
     We need God.
That Bible verse is written to God's people, the believers in Him.  It is also written to churches.
Over time in our nation's history, God's people in America forgot to pray.  In slow and subtle ways, people began to back away from their times of prayer.  We began to do more by ourselves and less with God's help.  And as we began to back away from God, the Almighty began to back away from our nation.  And as God backed away, His protective hedge of us and our children moved away as well:  thus allowing Satan to move in and establish strongholds of evil all across the land; and, in so doing, the Devil has taken adults and the evil one has also taken our children.
In America, we became prosperous as God blessed us; but in our prosperity, we became more proud and less humble in slow and subtle ways:  the evidence of which we can clearly see all across the land.
How many young children across America know the first three words of the Bible?  How many adults know the first three words of the Bible?  At the same time, how many children are masters if violent video games?  And how many adults feast their minds on pornography?  And how many of these adults are feeding pornography to children across television, personal computers, and cell phones?  How many children across America have never said a prayer?
In that verse at the top of the page, the Lord says turn from their wicked waysThe Lord is speaking to believers, who go to churches.  What, then, is the wickedness that believers have attached to themselves that is preventing the Lord from hearing our prayers?  What are believers bringing with them in their minds and hearts in our attempt to worship Holy God?
For God says, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
So, then, if we the believers of the Lord are unwilling to turn from our wicked ways, the Lord will not forgive our sin, and He will not heal our land.  We make the choice.
America is like the Titanic.  We are moving across turbulent waters at full throttle and our ships' captains (ministers, pastors, and parents) are asleep at the wheel.  And as the Titanic was sinking, the music played on.
    Do you hear the music?
