A SEED OF DOUBT

We need to go back to the Garden of Eden for there is another lesson to be learned from there that helps us to understand how we think even to this day.
The serpent began his conversation with Adam and Eve with a question.  Oh, it was such a simple question with the proper innocence of his voice:  Hath God said? as it is written in the book of Genesis.
Eve, is that what God said?  Are you sure?
Adam, do you think you heard God correctly?  Is it possible that you simply misunderstood what He meant?  Hmmm?
Words are like seeds, and when the seeds of words are planted in our minds they will root and grow.
So.  How does that question have to do with us today?
George, do you really believe that Jesus died for sins?  I mean, can a man do that?
Sally, do you honestly believe that a man can arise from death and go to heaven and sit down with God?  Really?
Max, what do you think, ol' buddy, ol' pal?  I mean, you're a man of high education.  Master's degree, is it?  Working on your PhD, I believe.  You're good man in your community.   Do you think for a moment that there is only one way to get to heaven?
Sue?  What about you?  Why would God not want you to have the good things you enjoy so much, Sue?  If you go with that Jesus crowd, look at all the fun you would have to give up.  My, my.
Words are seeds, the seeds root and grow, and, with proper amounts of water over time, you have a forest of trees in your mind that block your mind from wanting to believe anything about God because of one seed that was planted a long time ago.
Satan's tactic with you is the same tactic he used in the Garden of Eden.  His plan worked then, as it is working today.
You have doubt that the Bible is the Word of God and you never read it for yourself to make your own decision because the opinion of others has become your own opinion.  While we say do not judge a book by its cover, we do, in fact, judge the Bible by its cover and refrain from reading for ourselves:  which is precisely what the devil wants you to do.  And why do others stay away from the Bible?  For the same reason you do:  doubt.
Why do you refuse to believe in Christ?  Because of doubt.
If you say you want to go to heaven when you die, what you can do is pray.  Pray to God and He will hear your prayer, and He will answer your prayer.  You can pray from where you are sitting now.  You need not wait until you go to church, for you can do it now, just between you and Him.  You do not need to pray in front of other people.  If you want someone to pray with you, ask, and someone will.  The important thing, however, is to pray.  Pray and believe on the name of Jesus Christ.
