A COMPLEX

     In the Garden of Eden, God told Adam and Eve that they could eat from every tree in the garden except from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.  When we read that commandment quickly, it is easy to overlook one word:  EVIL.
     Satan hates God and he hates people because we are created in the image of God and when Satan sees us he therefore hates us because we remind him of how much he hates God.  And when Adam and Eve disobeyed the commandment of the Lord and made an agreement with Satan, God removed His hedge of protection for Adam and Eve and the evil mind of Satan flooded the minds of Adam and Eve and now they could think in evil; whereas before they had pure minds, minds that knew no bad words, nor any negative thought whatsoever.
     Their decision that day opened the door of evil to themselves as well as to every human that has been born upon the earth with the personality characteristics of Satan.  In time to come, however, the Son of God would come to earth to die for sin and to restore the relationship of people to God if we will believe in Him and trust in Him for our salvation.  Christ, therefore, is the Door for us to enter therein for this relationship with Almighty God.
     If you do not believe that we are born with those characteristics of the devil, then why is it so easy for us to lie?  Why is it so easy to steal a paperclip from the office?  Why is it so easy for a toddler to throw a temper tantrum, stomp and fume, and roar like a lion?  Why is it so easy for me to give somebody a piece of my mind?  Why is it so easy for us to believe that we are not sinners, yet we can walk in the house and roar like a lion and destroy relationships with the very people we say we love so much?
     Love?  How can we love when we are born with hate?  How can you hate me with your venom, then turn around and say you love you?  Is this from the knowledge of both good and evil?
     At the same time, why is it so difficult for people to believe that we are not sinners?  Why is it so difficult for people to believe in God?  Why is it so difficult for people to say they do not believe in Satan when they act just like him?
     In the Word of God, the word evil is used 613 times!
    Even in church, when we stand and quote the Lord's Prayer, we say:  DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
    Is is difficult for us to believe in Christ because our natural minds are at war with God.  We do not want to let go of this god complex that we have of ourselves.  We are proud and proud that we are proud.  And with our natural minds, we created shields to protect ourselves from God and to polish our god complex in religion, humanism, evolution, philosophy, do-good and feel-good doctrines, and fused with the false teaching that we have a simple case of bad habits, but nothing as serious as sin.  And is it sin that other people have but not me?
    So then, because Christ can deliver us from evil, then He must be the choice.  All you need to do is put your faith in Him and allow Him the opportunity to do so.
