Have you ever read the words "JESUS SAVES" on a billboard?
Have you ever heard Jesus being preached on television and you turn the channel?
Have you ever heard Jesus being taught on radio and you turn the channel?
Have people ever knocked on your house door to tell you about Christ and you say, "I'm really busy now" and duck back in your house?
Have you ever been among people and the conversation speaks of Christ and you say, "Let's not talk about that religious stuff"? Or you quickly turn the channel and talk about baseball?
Has anyone ever asked you if you know Jesus as your Saviour and you say, "I'm Catholic" or "I'm a Baptist" or "I have my own religious beliefs"?
Have you ever heard someone say, "How can people go to hell if they have never heard the Gospel of Christ"? Did you know there are people in Christian religions who ask that question and yet they have never accepted Christ as their Saviour?
Have you ever heard about the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem? And about His resurrection from death on the third day?
Have you ever given and received gifts at Christmas?
Have you ever bought new clothes for your children at Easter, or helped them to dye Easter eggs?
As discussed in a previous blog, the Holy Spirit never speaks of Himself. He is a revealer of truth and He constantly works to point people to Jesus Christ. So then, for people to say how can people go to hell if they have never heard the Gospel of Christ, please remember that Christ IS the Gospel. So then, because the Holy Spirit has directed your mind to Christ, Christ is all you need to know to be saved. And in your mind you know this, but then you turn away.
Ever since the Day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit has been working for 2012 years to point the minds of people to the Son of God. For even the martyrs of Christ up to the Protestant Reformation never had a Bible. Many of them could not read. Yet they believed. And they told others about this wonderful news long before the Bible was available in their own language.
To be saved from your sin, all you need is Christ. For today, that is all you need to know.
Do you think it is an accident that you read this blog today? No. The Holy Spirit has directed your attention to this blog in order for you to hear the story of Jesus and His saving power. All you need to do is trust in Him and it will be well with your soul.
If you do not have a Bible, you can visit www.bible.com and read the Bible free. You can read John 3:3 and John 3:16. You can go to this site every day and feed your mind on the Word of God.
Today, may you receive the gift of grace.
