GLAD TIDINGS

Luke was born in Antioch, Syria, a Greek by birth, and a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ.  He was also a companion of the Apostle Paul on many of Paul's missionary journeys.
Luke was a physician, an expert historical novelist, a painter of portraits, the writer of two New Testament books, the Gospel of Luke and The Acts of the Apostles.  Luke was also the only Gentile to write books of the entire Bible.
Luke was a masterful storyteller as he tells us about the birth of Christ in Bethlehem, the life, crucifixion and resurrection of the Lord, but also the Good Samaritan, the Prodigal Son, the rich man and Lazarus, the barren fig tree, and of an event that happened on the road to Emmaus.  And let us not forget about the shepherds abiding in the field by night.
Luke wrote more pages of the New Testament than any New Testament writer.  Had Luke had more time and could have lived in a different era, perhaps, words from his inkwell would have never stopped flowing. For in all of his stories, every event, every name, every location, and every city is documented in accurate detail.
Luke is the writer of glad tidings and reading his stories are wonderful to read and easy to understand.
Luke died in Boeotia, Greece, at the age of 84.
