LIKE A VAPOUR

In 1962, there were no cell phones, no iPhones, CDs or DVDs, internet, and the touch-tone telephone was a big hit at the Seattle World's Fair.
In 1962, John F. Kennedy was President of the United States.  The USSR attempted to build missle bases in Cuba, and the world stood on the brink of nuclear war.
In 1962, John Glenn became the first American to orbit the earth which was accomplished aboard Friendship 7 in 4 hours, 55, minutes, and 23 seconds.
In 1962, an average home cost $18,200, gasoline was .31 per gallon, a dozen eggs cost .54, a gallon of milk was .49, minimum wage was $1.15 per hour, and average yearly income was $4300.
In 1962, the audio cassette was invented, the Beatles released their first record, and the New York Yankess won the World Series.
On January 1, 1962, the Rose Bowl on NBC was the first coast-to-coast broadcast for a college football game in the United States.
Since 1962, the U.S. has had nine presidents, which includes President Barack Obama.
For us who remember 1962, that was fifty years ago.  How did all those years pass so quickly!
The book of James says:  For what is your life?  It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away."
If you were born in 1979, you are now 33 years old.  Jesus Christ of Nazareth was 33 years old when he was crucified in Jerusalem for the sins of the world, 2012 years ago.
Time runs out.  You may not have fifty years; or, you may not have another year, month, or week.
So then, what are you going to do about Jesus, whom is called Christ?  Where are you going to be when you ring the bell?  Please consider this in your prayers tonight.
