ON WINGS OF EAGLES

"He giveth power to the faint; and to them that  have no might he increaseth strength.  Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:  But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."  (Isaiah 40: 29-31)

The word for "wait" in Hebrew is sharath, which means "to serve", "to minister", as in the capacity of a servant or attendant.  It means to get up, get busy, get active in service to the Lord, and not to idle the time away by doing nothing.
As servants of the Lord, we should be "watchers of the inhabitants"  as in the days of Nehemiah as he was rebuilding the walls in Jerusalem; or as watchers on the walls to warn people of the enemy, such as his personality characteristics and behavior; or as shepherds, "keeping watch over their flocks by night"  (Luke 2: 8)
Knowing, too, that when we are weak, He is strong, and that God will strengthen us in our weakness.
"And let us not be weary in well doing:  for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."  (Galatians 6: )
"Being confident of this one thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."                    (Philippians 1: 6)
   Remembering, too,
"My grace is sufficient in for thee:  for my strength is made perfect in weakness; for when I am weak, then am I strong."                                   (2nd Corinthians 12: 9a, 10b)

Now that we know that God's will is made perfect in our weakness, it is time to MOUNT UP!
"Redeeming the time, for the days are evil."  (Ephesians 5: 16)

In Hebrew, "mount up" means alah,  which is "to go up, to ascend, to go over a boundary".
By this, we can believe that God will strength our courage.  In other words, as we are faithful to God, we will also soar  with Him!
Knowing, then, that "he is able to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him"  (Hebrews 7: 25), we can also declare as the angel of the Lord proclaimed to the shepherds in Bethlehem, "Fear not:  for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people."  (Luke 2: 10)
Therefore, because of Christ our Savior, we are empowered to stand on the promises of God in the midst of our circumstances, and believe,
"The LORD is my rock and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?  For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion:  in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me upon a rock."  (Psalm 27: 1, 5)
