END GAME

The game of chess has three games:  the opening game, the middle game, and the end game.
If a player has a good opening game and followed by a challenging middle game, he should be able to swoop in and checkmate his opponent if the opponent is weak in his opening and middle games.
But if the opponent is a strong and experienced adversary, he could quickly strike back with a surprise victory because his opponent's pride blinded his eyes to his lines of defense.

"For we wrestle not with flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."  (Ephesians 6: 12)

As believers in Christ, what should we do in the chess game of life since we are engaged in spiritual warfare in our walk with the Lord?
Have we prepared ourselves with a good opening game and a good middle game to strengthen our weaknesses in the time of trouble when the devil launches a full-scale attack to take us out of  the game?

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:  whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world."  (1st Peter 5: 8, 9)

"For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh; (for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; and having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled."  (2nd Corinthians 10: 3-6)

Knowing, then, that these things are true, and, as we continue to stand strong with the Lord, we also know that the Lord Himself will checkmate the devil in the end game,

"and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
                                               (1st Thessalonians 4: 17)

"And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written,
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS"
(Revelation 19: 16)
