CHRIST: KING OF CHESS!

In the game of chess, the queen's primary responsibility is to defend the king at any cost, and players will often need to sacrifice the life of the queen to protect the king.
The queen, therefore, should not be the star of the show, nor should she be dancing and prancing all over the board, snatching needless pawns, for she will find herself in a vulnerable position, and, blinded by her pride, she will be ambushed by a leaping knight to destroy her and take her off the board and out of the game.
But if we will look at chess through spiritual eyes, we can see a different game appear, where Christ is the King of chess, and the Queen, of course, is the bride of Christ, which is the church, which Christ gave His life for.
The pieces on the back row of the board are the rooks, bishops, and knights, and they represent  evangelists, missionaries, ministers of youth, ministers of music, and church pastors, and they are the under shepherds of the Good Shepherd.  Their role is to be shepherds, watching over their flocks by night, to feed the flock, and to warn the flock of the danger of wolves, who are the false prophets, who work as ministers of Satan to destroy and scatter the flock.
The pawns are the flock of sheep, soldiers of the Lord, and their role is to take the Gospel of Christ to the uttermost parts of the world while working with the rooks, bishops, and knights.
In the final move of the game, we know that Christ will "descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God:"  at which time the Lord will checkmate the great Red Dragon, the Devil, that old serpent, which is Satan, who is also known as Saturn, the sun-god.
   Game over!
"and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
                                  (1st Thessalonians 4: 17)
