THE LIGHT OF GOD'S WORD

"What! know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?  For ye are bought with a price:  therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."
                                 (1st Corinthians 6: 19-20)
When the light of God's word dwells in our minds, our minds become a lighthouse, at which time God's word serves as head lamps in our minds and guides us in our thinking:  out of which comes our choices and our behaviors.

"In him was life; and the life was the light of men."  (John 1: 4)
"Ye are the light of the world.  A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.  Neither do men light a candle, and put in under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light upon all that are in darkness.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."  (Matthew 5: 14-16)
"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet,
and a light unto my path."  (Psalm 119: 105)
"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly and in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."  (Colossians 3: 16)
"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."  (John 8: 31-32)
Because of the resurrection of Christ, He is living today.  Not only is He alive, but His words are also alive.  And when we engraft the word of the Lord in our minds, these words are living words dwelling within us.  Not only are they living words, but they are also words of light because Christ is light.  We, therefore, have the light of the world dwelling within us, and our bodies are "the temple of the Holy Ghost," (1st Corinthians 6: 19)
Knowing, then, that Christ is the Captain of our salvation, we can believe that we are the children of God.
"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:  which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God:  which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy."  (1st Peter 4: 9-10)
   Therefore,
"Let the words of my mouth,
and the meditation of my heart,
                       be acceptable in thy sight,
                           O, LORD, my strength,
                        and my redeemer."
                                   (Psalm 19: 14)
