"He hath made all things beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
"I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it; and God doeth it, that man should fear before him.
"That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past." (Ecclesiastes 3: 11, 14, 15)
God is time.
God is the clock of heaven and earth. No man can change the hands on the clock, neither add to it, nor take away.
Even the universe itself is made of God in the time of God.
Time, therefore, belongs to God, for He is time.
With God, time stands still.
As humans, all we are doing is moving through the time of God. Though we look at our past, our history is in God's time; and while we look to the future, the future also is in God's time.
As the planets move through the universe, their orbits are always on time.
As the earth revolves on its axis as it spins around the sun from year to year, the orbit of the earth around the sun is always on time.
The monthly cycles of the moon are also always on time.
You and I were born at an appointed time in God's time; and the lives we are living now, we are also living in God's time. Time, therefore, does not belong to us. We are simply guests of God in His time.
How then, are we using this gift of God that we call time?
Knowing, then, that God is time, how will people give account for their use of God's time in the worship of idols, false gods, and images of people that they also worship?
"And it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: so Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation." (Hebrews 9: 27-28)
Therefore, since we know our births come at an appointed time in God's time, then we also know that our deaths will come at an appointed time in God's time.
How, then, will we use time in the time of God that we have remaining upon the earth?
"Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil." (Ecclesiastes 12: 13-14)
