STORIES UNTOLD

Be still and know that I am God:
I will be exalted among the heathen,
I will be exalted in the earth.  (Psalm 46: 10)

   God's ways are silent ways.
If noise has your attention, God is not in the noise.
If loud music excites your emotions, God is not in the music.
If God is not in the message, God is not the message.
It was a silent night when Jesus was born in Bethlehem.
Years later, Jesus was arrested in the silence of the early morning darkness; and for the next several hours, His trial was conducted in the silence of the early morning darkness.
And by the time most of the citizens of Jerusalem were breaking for lunch, Jesus was on a cross, bleeding and dying, and His crucifixion was a surprise for many people.
When Jesus arose from the tomb, there was no noise and the earth did not shake.
His ascension back to heaven was also as silent as His arrival in Bethlehem.
While Jesus lived on earth, the only people who made noise were those wanting to kill Him.
The world's history books do not record the journeys of the apostles and disciples of Christ; neither does world history mention the cries and screams of millions of murdered Christians over the past two thousand years.  Most of their stories remain untold.
History books in the United States do not mention the influence of Christian women in America over the past one hundred years.  Most of their stories remain untold.
Neither do American history books mention the establishment of pioneer churches by pioneer preachers for more than two hundred years.  Most of their stories remain untold.
   God's ways are silent ways.
But there will come a day, however, when people will hear from God in a loud and noisy way; for the return of Christ will be a noisy event as God will no longer be silent.
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him; and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him.  Even so, Amen.  (Revelation 1: 7)
