A PREP TALK

People are capable of achieving great things, and perhaps they are more capable than they believe.
God wants to accomplish some great things through people, but people must be willing to let Christ in their lives.
What is your life, and what is it worth?  Are you to merely live, die, vanish, and be no more?  Do you think your life is simply an accident, or a coincidence?  And when you die perhaps only a few people will miss you when you are gone?
Is there no more to life than this life
What is the goal you have for your life?  What do you want to accomplish?  And how do you want to be remembered?
Is it your name that is important for others to know and to remember?
Entertainers seek that:  to make a name for themselves and to be noticed by others wherever they go.  They like the attention, they like the spotlight, and they like to talk about themselves.  While they are young, entertainers get all of that; but as they grow older and show signs of aging, their luster fades and their popularity diminishes.
Now what?  Now they are no longer in the spotlight, no longer the center of attention, and their faces gradually disappear from invitations and performances.  In time, their names will be forgotten by the people who once stood and applauded while they were performing.
Have you ever thought that God has a purpose for your life?  That God, Creator of the universe, would want to accomplish a goal that He has for you through you?
Please remember, you are important to God!  No matter where you are at this moment, and no matter about your name or your family tree, you are important to God.
To God, it doesn't matter if your family has wealth, and it does not matter to Him if you consider yourself to be of middle class, lower class, or no class, you are important to God.  God is not that concerned about your educational level, or how many shirts you have in your wardrobe.  Maybe you own one pair of shoes.  Maybe your socks have holes in the toes.  Maybe you sleep on a floor.  The color of your skin, however, is important to God because He designed your skin for you.  So do not let your skin be an issue.  Neither should you be concerned about your age, for believers of Christ are internally youthful while other people feel old.
For you see, God knows you even now.  He knows your height, your weight, your likes and dislikes.  God also knows the things you enjoy and the things that you do not like.  God knows your interests.
God also knows the talents He created in you.  Those talents are there now, waiting to be opened, and waiting to come out of you.  But you must be willing to totally trust in Him, and to abandon yourself in His leadership by faith, thereby believing the future that He has planned for you.
Be not afraid, for God will not lead you do accomplish a task for Him that you are not capable of doing.  He will work with you and not against you.
And by the way.  Do you know that God loves you?  Many people do not know that God loves them.  But if you will let God in your life, and trust in Him, He will show you the goal He has for you to accomplish.  He will not harm you, nor hurt you; and He will never ask you to do anything that He is not willing to do.
Above all else, what you do for Christ is all about Him, and not about yourself, which you will see more clearly as your journey with Him begins.  So pray and God will energize you with energy from above.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.  Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.  And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.  (Jeremiah 29: 11-13)
