Even the devil knows that the Word of the Lord is truth, yet many people choose to believe that the Bible is a book of myths and fairytales, while the devil also knows that myths and fairytales are lies.
In ancient Egypt, the people there did not believe in mythology. To them, the stories in their minds were real.
In ancient Greece, the people there did not believe in mythology. To them, the stories in their minds were real.
In ancient Rome, the people there did not believe in mythology. To them, the stories in their minds were real.
In modern mythology, people do not believe that their belief is mythology. To them, the stories in their minds are real.
To modern mythologists, they believe that certain men are gods, which is the reason they call them Father---as in Father God---and they further believe that Father God is God incarnate, walking to and fro upon the earth in a human body, clothed in priestly garments.
Beyond this, they believe that the god, gods and goddesses of their religions are real and not mythology; and that the images of their god, gods and goddesses---in the form of portraits, paintings, photographs, and sculptures---are real and worthy of worship.
Furthermore, modern mythologists believe that the souls of certain dead people are gods and can answer prayers.
So then, is there any difference between ancient mythology and modern mythology?
No!
For the behavior of modern mythologists is the same behavior of ancient mythologists.
Modern mythologists, however, will not admit that they are worshippers of idols, for they want to believe that their gods are real. After all, they have been told that their gods are real ever since they were young children. Their parents believed in the same, so it must be true. Surely their parents and grandparents would not be worshippers of idols, or gods made with human hands. Therefore, their gods must be alive and living, with supernatural powers.
Moreover, is mythology just another word for paganism?
We think not because we prefer to ascribe paganism to the ancients, whom we believe didn't know any better; yet modern mythologists are the same as pagans, but they think not, choosing instead to believe that know better, that they are better than the ancients.
Even within modern Christianity we find elements of mythology, or paganism, in front of our eyes and in broad daylight. We see people kneeling to images of gods in church buildings, we see people believing that priests are gods, and we see people praying to the souls of dead people as if they are gods and can answer prayers. But we also see modern Christianity incorporating mythological precepts by embracing pagan unholy days as holidays, disguised as days of fun and times to play and party, instead of evil worship of devils.
How did this happen?
Over the past twenty centuries, the devil has been working---in slow and in subtle ways---to influence people to believe that myths and fairytales of religion are true while influencing people to believe that the Bible is a book of lies: while, at the same time, keeping people chained to the dogmas and doctrines, rituals and rituals of ancient mythology, transported to the minds of modern mythologists, so that moderns will believe that these methods are something new, so that the people will not believe that they are pagans!
How, then, can we say that the devil knows that the Word of the Lord is truth?
Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. (James 2: 19)
