THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD

And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.
And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and there they dwelt.
And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick and burn them thoroughly.  And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar.
And they said, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven:  and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do:  and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.
So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth:  and they left off to build the city.
Therefore is the name of it called Ba'bel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth:  and from thence did the LORD scatter them upon the face of all the earth.  (Genesis 11: 1-9)

Ever since that day at the Tower of Babel, men have had an obsession of building cities and towers all over the earth as his way to make us a name.
Instead of building cities and towers for God, man has built cities and towers, kingdoms and empires, and named them for himself, which is the arrogance of man; for men have killed people to build his cities and towers, and men have killed to keep them.
Human history has circled the globe, and that which we once watched in the rearview mirror, we are now seeing through the windshield as history is repeating itself in front of our eyes; for people are now exhibiting the same behaviors that people lived thousands of years ago upon the earth.
That which people were doing at the Tower of Babel, people are doing the same today.
That which Moses saw in ancient Egypt, people are doing the same today.
That which the apostles and disciples of Christ saw in ancient Rome, we are seeing the same in Rome today.
That which Christians escaped from in Europe, during the Protestant Reformation, people are seeing the same in Europe today.
That which people are experiencing in the United States today, people were experiencing the same in ancient Babylon, ancient Egypt, ancient Rome, and old Europe centuries ago.
For if the apostles and disciples of Christ could walk across the United States today, would they see the same idolatry that they saw in Rome long ago?
Is it, therefore, an accident that English is the global language today?  That the world is now of one language, and of one speech as the people were at the Tower of Babel?
No, this is no accident, for English was planned to become the international language of the world.
Having one language throughout the world breaks down a language barrier, making it easier for people to communicate, one with another, as people unite to build a city and a tower whose top may reach unto heaven:  as people, once again, will take a final stand to exalt a name that is above the name of Christ.
   And what is his name?
Looking through the windshield to the future, we can read his name in the Holy Bible:
And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is A-bad'don, but in the Greek tongue hath his name A-pol'ly-on. (Revelation 9: 11)
