The men who killed Jesus of Nazareth were members of a secret society, with a secret religion, and with a secret agenda---educated, trained, and sent forth from the school of occultism in Babylon.
For on the morning of the Lord's crucifixion in Jerusalem, when Jesus was captured in the Garden of Gethsemane, he said to his captors: this is your hour, and the powers of darkness.
From the Day of Pentecost until the beginning of the Protestant Reformation, in 1517, the followers of Jesus, called Christians, lived in fear of the power of Rome, for Rome sent soldiers to hunt and to kill Christians as if they were no more than wild animals, or carriers of a contagious disease, and therefore worthy of nothing but death.
Yet Rome, as a political power, could not stop the Gospel of Christ. For all of Rome's killing, Christians continued to preach Christ, even with their heads on chopping blocks.
Something, therefore, had to happen in Rome that would put an end to the message of Christ, once and for all. Something had to change. And that something was when Rome turned its face around and became a religious empire.
Hiding its evil under the hats of men, adorning themselves in priestly garments, and pretending to be Christian ministers, Rome proclaimed that Christianity was the official state religion of Rome, and that all people in the empire were under the authority of a papal government, which exercised all of the powers of political Rome, forcing people to convert to Rome's brand of Christianity.
Thus, religion and politics merged in Rome as Rome became the Holy Roman Empire, and Caesar became a Pope.
What a coup d'état!
Nothing really changed, however, because people continued to live in fear of Rome. For now they were considered to be infidels if they did not convert to the Roman way, and, as infidels, they were worthy of death. And papal Rome hunted and killed Christians as if they were no more than wild animals, or carriers of a contagious disease, and thereby deserving of nothing but death.
Thus, from the Day of Pentecost until the beginning of the Protestant Reformation, in 15l7, Christians were persecuted and killed for 1500 years while under the siege of Rome.
But the Protestant Reformation did not end papal Rome's power over people as the Pope's men went underground, operating through a network of secret societies to exercise the power of the pontiff in a clandestine manner by infiltrating governments and educational facilities to alter the minds of people as agents of darkness. They have also infiltrated banks and financial institutions to alter the flow of money to Rome.
All the Pope's men are just like the men who killed Jesus: educated, trained, and sent forth from the school of occultism from ancient Babylon via Rome. For the purpose of the Pope's men is to stop the message of Christ from reaching people and to destroy Protestantism upon the earth.
It is difficult for a false face to smile because smiling is not normal, or natural, to an evil mind; and if you will look at all of the pictures of the Popes of Rome, what do you see? You will see faces of men of the powers of darkness, which are faces just like the men who killed Jesus in Jerusalem, and their eyes, set in dry sockets, only have sight for death and dying.
And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. (2 Corinthians 11: 14-15)
But these were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. (2 Peter 2: 1-2)
