The crucifixion of Jesus Christ is the most famous execution in human history.
Likewise, the resurrection of Jesus Christ is known as the greatest event in history.
Perhaps we should ask: How did the death of a carpenter from Nazareth become world famous? What is the talk of Jesus all about? What is so different, so special about this son of Joseph and Mary?
As Christians, we teach, preach, sing, and write about Christ. We believe that Jesus lived, died, and arose from death. Furthermore, we believe that Jesus sits at the right hand of God the Father in heaven, and that He will return to earth and establish His kingdom, with His people; that we shall know Him and He shall know us, and we shall reign with Him forever. Thus it is because Christ lives that we do the things we do.
So then, what is so different, so special about Christ?
He's alive! He is a never-ending story: and all of the teaching, preaching, singing, and writing of Christ over two thousand years is no more than a footnote in the storybook of Jesus.
This is why we do what we do for Christ. Christ is our source for Good News, an endless supply of information. And we want others to read, hear, and know this Good News, to know Him as we know Him, and be partakers in this never-ending story about the love of God.
For all that people have heard about Christ, they really haven't heard anything yet!
Wait till He returns!
