Just as Jesus was born of the Holy Spirit in Bethlehem, the church of Jesus Christ was born of the Holy Spirit in Jerusalem exactly 50 days after Passover and 49 days after the resurrection of Jesus from death.
King Herod believed that Jesus is the King of the Jews, even when Jesus was a baby in Bethlehem, and he sent forth and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and younger.... (Matthew 2: 16)
The Jewish leaders of the Great Sanhedrin believed that Christ is the Son of God, which is why they sought to kill him.
Pontius Pilate believed that Jesus is the Son of God, yet Pilate issued the order to crucify Jesus.
False disciples and false apostles arose because they believed that Jesus is the Son of God, for would sane people pretend to be followers of a dead man?
The false church of Rome arose because those men knew that Jesus is alive. It would have been easy for those Roman dictators to leave Christians alone and let them talk about their dead Jesus, for surely a dead man could not be trouble for the great Roman Empire, could it? But no, they went to the extreme of building a religion that appeared to have the characteristics of a Christian church.
Rome did this, however, because Rome was losing followers of paganism. Rome was losing the battle against Christ. For Jesus had said earlier, I will build my church; and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. (Matthew 16: 18)
So in Jerusalem, the church of Jesus Christ was born, and the gates of hell have not prevailed against it.
Over the past two thousand years, men have continued to be false ministers and false priests of Christ because Christ is alive!

False ministers and false priests are disciples of Satan, and not ministers and priests of God, and their duty and their labor is to deceive people by distorting the message of Christ. Such men are paid mercenaries, for their wages are from Satan in the form of money and material gain. Like Satan, they are great pretenders, and they know their god is Satan, for their hearts and minds are filled with evil.
The church of Jesus Christ is not an institution, built by the hands of men.

The church of Jesus Christ is people, living and breathing, called unto salvation by Christ the Lord.
Jesus Christ, therefore, is the maker and builder of His church; and we, the people of the church of Christ, believe in Him, for He is the Author of our salvation, all because of God and His amazing grace: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2: 8)
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone; in whom all the building fitly framed together growth unto a holy temple in the Lord: in whom ye also are built together for a habitation of God through the Spirit. (Ephesians 2: 19-22)
Not only are we saved through God's amazing grace, but we are also saved through God's amazing love: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3: 16)
Therefore we, being born again in Christ, are members of the church of Jesus Christ, with whom we have fellowship one with another; for now we are kindred in the same family, the family of God, and the gates of hell will not prevail against us: for Christ is the evidence of our faith as well as our evidence of Him.
