Religion is like a rock on the side of the road.
Religion has never had life, religion is not alive now, and religion will never be alive in the future.
Therefore, it is impossible for religion to give life to people after death, just as it is impossible for the rock to give birth to baby rocks.
Young children will believe that Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny are real; but when they grow older and wake up, they will come to know that Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny are no more than fairy tales, which is part of the games people play at Christmas and at Easter.
Many adults, however, never wake up from sleeping in religion, and they will continue to believe in the gods and goddesses of their religion until the day they die, still believing that their gods and goddesses are real and not imaginary as Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.
But when they die, their religion will not be waiting for them on the other side of death's door; and neither will their gods and goddesses be there to guide them to a wonderful new world where they will never die.
Religion is the evidence of Satan's power of deception, which the Devil spins in the minds of young children, and their minds remain as the minds of young children all the days of their lives---never growing up and never awakening from sleeping in religion.
Even in religious Christianity, people are sleeping in religion; for they believe that men of the earth can forgive sin, and they believe that water of the earth is sufficient for cleansing sin. To them, Christ is no more than a rock on the side of the road, for it is not Christ who can save them from their sin: it is their submission to the rites and rituals that saves them because of the faith they have in the men that they can see with their eyes. To them, Christ is no more than Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny; for their faith is in their religion to lead them to a wonderful world beyond the grave and not Christ the Lord.
Without the knowledge of God, the Devil knows that people will believe in just about anything and everything they see with their eyes and hear with their ears, for their faith is in those things they see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and where Christ is part of the trilogy of Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny, and where Christ is no more than a ceramic Jesus under a Christmas tree: and they are immune from the Gospel of Christ.
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them that believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (2nd Corinthians 4: 3-4)
